Townshend was a music licensee on Terrence Malick’s Palme d’Or winning film, The Tree Of Life, where he received his first significant recognition. Since then, he has continued composing for feature films, including Malick’s recent film To The Wonder, starring Ben Affleck. Amongst a rapidly expanding resume, he has been named composer for the upcoming Malick film, Knight of Cups.
